hi

artist statement

Working primarily through photographic printmaking processes, my body of work addresses youth culture and experience in the 21st century. Using flashy imagery and tasty colors, I create prints that are easy to consume, playing with scale and its relation to the viewer. My life sized works allow me to present the physical body in a semi-realistic way, contradicting the abundance of pink and literal flatness of the work. Turning imagery posted on social media platforms that is commonly seen as superficial (selfies, food, nudes, so on…) and giving them the attention and care that one would give traditional fine arts subject matter results in an over the top display of pop in 2019.
